Our community is built on the principles of consent, personal autonomy, mutual respect, discretion, and accountability.
We take every complaint of misconduct and safety concern seriously. All members, including volunteers and staff, deserve to be treated fairly and to feel respected and safe.
Our Approach to Complaints and Concerns
Eros Events welcomes members, guests, volunteers, and staff to bring forward concerns involving inappropriate behavior, consent violations, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, retaliation, or other conduct that may compromise the safety and well-being of our community.
When a complaint is received, our leadership is committed to the following:
Every Complaint Will Be Acknowledged
Individuals who come forward will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We recognize that reporting a personal experience can be difficult, and we want to provide an environment where concerns can be raised without fear of ridicule, dismissal, or retaliation.
Impartiality and Fair Treatment
We believe that everyone involved deserves fair treatment.
Allegations will not automatically be treated as established facts and no one should be subjected to unfair treatment simply because an allegation has been made against them.
Accountability requires both compassion and fairness. Our standards apply equally to members, guests, volunteers, event staff, organizers, and leadership. That means no one is above our expectations for appropriate conduct, regardless of their personal connections, reputation, or seniority.
Objective and Independent Review
Serious or complex complaints may be referred to our conflict resolution team or, when appropriate, to an individual who is not directly involved in the circumstances.
Reviews may include examining relevant communications, available documentation, firsthand accounts, and other information necessary to understand the situation and provide leadership with informed recommendations.
Privacy and Discretion
We recognize that many matters brought to our attention involve deeply personal and sensitive information.
While absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, protecting the privacy and dignity of those involved remains a priority. Information will be handled discreetly and shared only when necessary for reviewing concerns, addressing safety issues, or meeting legal obligations.
Protection Against Retaliation
Eros Events does not tolerate retaliation for raising concerns in good faith, participating in a review, or providing relevant information.
Intimidation, harassment, threats, or attempts to interfere with a complaint review may result in appropriate action under our Member Agreement.
Appropriate Action
When concerns are substantiated or credible safety risks are identified, leadership may implement measures appropriate to the circumstances.
Immediate protective measures may be necessary to address a credible safety concern, even while a review remains ongoing.
Depending on the situation, these may include discussion on behavioral expectations, facilitated communication, increased event supervision, restrictions on participation, or removal from Eros Events activities, as described in our Member Agreement and the Membership Status definitions in our FAQ.
Eros Events Leadership’s Role & Authority
Eros Events recognizes an important distinction between incidents occurring within our organized activities and private interactions occurring outside our events.
Incidents at Eros Events
When concerning behavior occurs at an Eros-organized activity, leadership has a direct responsibility to respond within its authority.
Incidents Outside Eros Events
Eros Events will not automatically disregard outside incidents simply because they occurred elsewhere.
We will consider these incidents and concerns to evaluate potential risks to members, volunteers, staff, or future events. We may provide appropriate support and resources, establish reasonable boundaries, and take preventive measures within our authority.
We will not adjudicate private disputes that fall outside our responsibilities.
Reporting a Concern
We encourage anyone with a concern involving Eros Events or potential risks to our community to contact Eros leadership privately through our official communication channels. When possible, please provide a description of the concern, relevant dates and circumstances, and any supporting information you are comfortable sharing. You are not required to prove an allegation before bringing a concern to our attention.
We will also listen to third party reporters who are not directly involved in an incident. Reports will be assessed based on their nature, seriousness, available information, and potential impact on community safety.
We recognize that individuals may not always feel comfortable providing every detail immediately. Our goal is to approach these conversations with patience, professionalism, and respect. While Eros cares about all of its members, we are not a victim-support organization and encourage appropriate professional resources to be used.
Our Commitment to the Community
A healthy community is not one where concerns never arise. It is one where concerns can be raised, addressed, and learned from. We cannot promise that every disagreement will be resolved or that every concern will result in the outcome someone hopes for.
Our leadership is committed to approaching complaints responsibly and fairly and to minimize bias and prejudice. We will make decisions guided by community safety and organization cohesiveness rather than personal loyalties or outside pressure. We believe that transparent standards, consistent decisions, and mutual respect are essential to maintaining the trust of our community.
We remain committed to making Eros Events a place where individuals can explore, connect, and express themselves in an environment focused on consent, mutual respect, and personal responsibility.
